The benefits of tomatoes

Thanks to their key nutrient lycopene, tomatoes have been found to reduce the chances of a stroke by 55 per cent, according to the journal Neurology.
And surprisingly, a bottle of ketchup contains more lycopene per gram than a raw tomato, so even if you are not a fan of a fried tomato you can still get the benefit.

Slang for Food

Some slang words for food in general are grub and chow. These are usually used in the informal phrase: “Let’s get some grub/chow” when you want to get food together with your friends. The word nosh means snack-type food, not a complete meal. Fancy some nosh? It can also be used as a verb: “She’s noshing on potato chips.” If you have the munchies (have light hunger, desire for snack food) you can nosh on cookies, nuts, etc. I often get the munchies while watching TV late at night.(=dar hambre)
