These 4 Things Happen Right Before a Heart Attack
By S.A. Nickerson
Every year, approximately 785,000 Americans suffer a first heart attack. And 470,000 who've already had one or more heart attacks have another one. The scary thing is that 25 percent of ALL heart attacks happen "silently," without clear or obvious symptoms.
Even when symptoms occur, they can be so mild or vague, most people don't even realize it's heart-related (unless they are made aware). Four things in particular are the most sinister signs of a silent heart attack.
These four things are the focus of a recent video presentation by renowned cardiovascular expert Dr. Chauncey Crandall: 4 Things You'll Feel Right Before a Heart Attack: A Special Newsmax Heart Health Report.

How to find your true ideal weight

Nutritionist and author, Dr Jean-Michel Cohen offers his top tips for finding your true ideal weight

Dr Jean-Michel Cohen
Dr Jean-Michel Cohen, Nutritionist and Author
Be realistic
People dream about a particular weight because they’ve seen somebody in a newspaper or a magazine and imagine that they could look like them. In reality, everyone is affected by genetics. An achievable 'right’ weight for most people is usually about the weight they were when they were naturally at their slimmest, without being on a diet
Don’t be too tough on yourself
If you try to be slimmer than your 'right’ weight you’ll probably end up putting weight back on after you have finished dieting. The main reason people give up on diets is because they get frustrated at having to ignore their cravings. Don’t feel guilty if you give in to temptation once in a while; just make sure that you compensate with healthier meals the next day. You won’t die if you eat four chunks of chocolate – just substitute it for something else that day
Drink is not forbidden
A glass of wine is 100 calories. It’s not the same type of calories as in fruit, but it is the same quantity, and the pleasure you get from drinking it changes the taste of the diet. The best thing to do when you want a glass of wine is to ensure you have water on the table, too. By balancing your sips of wine with water, you will drink less but still get the pleasure from the wine
Be a better shopper
Becoming thinner begins with your shopping-list. The more vegetables you buy, the more you eat. Prepare your list after eating – you will be less hungry, and therefore buy less. When I was little, my grandmother planned the entire week’s recipes the Sunday before. She knew what she had to buy and what recipes she’d make, which added to the pleasure of eating
Enjoy your food
A really good diet has to be flexible, sustainable and endurable. So make recipes that are enjoyable to eat. In Paris, food is a pleasure; Parisians even eat out at restaurants alone since they enjoy food
Relax to succeed
You have to approach eating in a relaxed way. Very often people end up feeling stressed when they diet – they feel pressured to lose weight and as though they need to deny themselves lots of things. But in reality people who succeed with their diets are the ones who are most relaxed
An ideal meal
I recommend cooked tomatoes, because they are very rich in lycopene (a powerful antioxidant), with fatty fishes such as salmon. When you cook salmon with tomatoes you don’t need as much oil and you produce a very rich and healthy dish. It is full of omega-3, which helps to reduce blood pressure and inflammation. Plus, you could also add some lemon or grapefruit to get even more vitamin C.

Nadal rewrites the history books at Roland Garros

Neither rain, a court invasion nor the very best that David Ferrer could muster prevented Rafael Nadal from writing a new chapter in the history books in Paris on Sunday. The Spaniard’s straight sets win over his Davis Cup teammate made him the only player in history to win the same Grand Slam eight times, and his 6-3, 6-2, 6-3 victory was his 59th at Roland Garros, another record. Nadal has only been beaten once in nine years on the Paris clay, when Robin Söderling achieved what nobody else had before or since in the fourth round. A record of one win in his previous 16 matches against Nadal going into the final did not bode well for Ferrer.

Unleash Your Power with I AM Affirmations
“I am” is the most powerful statement you can make. It is a declaration. The trouble starts when we use “I am” in a negative way – but you can learn to speak in a way that honors who you are, empowers you, and helps you create the circumstances you want, by using I Am affirmations.
The words you think and speak are creative forces. How many of your thoughts and words are negative – creating unwanted circumstances – and how many are positive? Do you even know?
Empower yourself with I AM affirmations! Before doing anything else, it’s important to get an idea of what your inner speech is like and become aware of how you speak to others. Use the Silva Method 3-to-1 or 5-to-1 countdown technique to get into the alpha brainwave state. Then, when your mind is more relaxed, ‘sit back and listen’ to your inner chatter. Let your mind ramble on about anything it wants to. To keep from getting involved in a thought, say “Stop” when a thought is finished. That will ‘reboot’ your mind and it will come up with another topic. Just take note of which statements are negative and which are positive.

How to Create a Habit of Positive Self-Talk

How to Create a Habit of Positive Self-Talk
Your self-talk determines how you feel. Try this exercise: say to yourself, “I am angry about the traffic on my commute.” Let yourself feel the statement. If you’re paying attention to your body, you can actually feel a physical response to the words you just said. It might be subtle – but if you were to repeat those words, and keep that train of thought chugging through your mind, your physical response would intensify. Now say to yourself, “I enjoy …
